Krusovsky has published over 100 poems in Hungarian literary journals and anthologies and his work has also been published in Bulgarian, Croatian, English, Greek, Serbian and Spanish.He is also a translator of major 20th century poets including John Ashbury, Leonard Cohen, Louise Glück and Donald Hall. Krusovsky’s recent work, which explores the life of Hart Crane and early performances of Chris Burden, questions various aspects of the body—in the foreground, its capacity to endure and visualize, and in the background, to represent thoughts and feelings. He wanted to take part in readings, lectures and workshops and learn more about literary translation and book publishing in the US.

Artist—A playwright, theater director and dramaturg, Čurik is concerned with community awareness and interaction and non-hierarchical processes of making theater.  She was also experimenting with new forms of radio broadcasting, for instance, reporting on a live performance using the conventions of sports games. She explores strategies for the use of radio to offer other options for audience engagement. Her work has been presented widely in Croatia including at the prestigious Eurokaz Festival and on National Croatian Radio.

She hoped to become acquainted with experimental theater practices and independent radio stations in the US and have an opportunity to collaborate with artists on a performance or radio show.

Artist—As a theater director, author and performer, Djordjev feels his most important goal is contributing to the dialogue on important issues in society and he regularly engages with political subjects such as the effects of war on individual lives. Through the TkH (Walking Theory) platform, he is also active in theoretical and educational projects that provide materials and infrastructure for self-organized groups to advance their understanding of and participation in the independent performing arts community. He received his PhD at the University of Arts, Belgrade, and the recipient of several theater awards. 

Djordjev was eager to share his experiences with US colleagues and wanted to be involved in the development of a production at an independent theater.

Victoria Myronyuk is an interdisciplinary artist, performer and theater maker from Ukraine. She graduated from the Department of Culture of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv, master’s program of Contemporary Stage Practice in Madrid (MPECV) and postgraduate program in artistic research in Brussels (A.PASS). Victoria’s works are mostly interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of performative, participatory and visual art practices which examine the issue of ritual structures, their boundaries and potential. 

During the residency at GeoAIR, Victoria dedicated her time to the exploration of everyday urban rituals, their collection, and description. She focused on individual and collective repetitive proceedings that are part of the city routine and which compose the unique performative constellation of Tbilisi. Based on her findings, the artist intended to create a systemized table of requisites from every ritual as well as an excursion that embraced some of the found performances.

Rotaru is a poet with strong interests in interdisciplinary work. Her first collection of poems, an experimental dialogue with the paintings of Frida Kahlo was published in 2005 and earned her four literary awards. A second collection, published in 2010, deconstructed a personal experience into a broader vision that pushed creative boundaries. Rotaru also explored the unique sound that every person or natural phenomena possesses and the special sound created by every interaction. She is also a journalist and has participated in interdisciplinary events with visual artists and musicians. She sought to take part in a variety of events—dance, music, art and literary—to provoke the transformation of her literary work.

Trained as a jazz and classical composer and pianist, Stolyar is primarily interested in free improvisation, both as a performer and educator. In addition to a career as a jazz pianist with several notable groups, his wide-ranging artistic activities include serving as principal composer for the Novosibirsk Globe theater and teaching jazz improvisation at the Novosibirsk musical college. He also formed two groups—an art rock duo and a free improve trio—and wrote a book on the training course in improvisation that he developed. He was excited to observe methods of teaching improvisation in the US, attend festivals of improvised music, and share ideas with American musicians.

As chairman of the Music and Art Support Foundation, Sandra Zandberg is deeply involved with all phases of the organization’s work including artistic direction, strategic planning, finances and fundraising. She also produces a bi-monthly music magazine and creates and organizes The Introvert Art Festival, Ad Lucem. The goal of this festival is to refocus attention from external stimuli to internal shared human values and connections.

Sandra was interested in meeting musicians, artists and producers for possible participation in the Ad Lucem Festival and in becoming acquainted with artistic developments and arts management practices in the US.
