Jenny Marketou is an artist, educator and activist. Through participatory, site-specific interventions, her artistic practice responds to the social, political and cultural history of its sites addressing environmental and social justice issues.
She has exhibited at Parliament of Bodies, Documenta 14, Athens/Basel; Biennale of Venice; Biennial of Seville; Biennial of Sao Paulo, Brazil; 1st Biennial of Cartagena, Colombia; Centre Pompidou in Paris; Radiator Gallery, LIC, NY; Eyebeam in New York; ZKM Center for Media Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany; Artium Museum, Spain; Museum Tinguely, Basel; Kumu Art Museum, Tallinn, Estonia; Reina Sofia, Madrid; Queens Museum, Queens, NY ; Apex Art, New York, NY; and The National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) Athens, Greece among others.
Jenny is a faculty member at The New School of Social Research in New York and co-editor with Stephanie Bailey, Chief Editor of Ocula Magazine, Organizing from Below/HOW Assemblies Matter? published by Naked Punch in 2017.
