Anna Tarkhova is a filmmaker and film curator. She was born in 1982 and grew up near the city of Irkutsk in Siberia. Tarkhova graduated from the Novosibirsk State University Department of Journalism, and in 2005 made her first documentary, Cinema in Siberia, about the first movie theater in Novosibirsk. The film has received several awards at regional and national festivals. Since 2005, Tarkhova has been a coordinator of the International Documentary Film Festival Meeting in Siberia, held in Novosibirsk. Among her responsibilities are film selection and programming for the international portion of the festival. She also organizes the festival’s workshops and master classes for young Russian and foreign filmmakers.
