Nadezhda Bolshakova is a filmmaker. She was born in 1973 in St. Petersburg. In 1995, Bolshakova launched an international film festival celebrating the centennial of cinema, entitled Cinema’s Funerals. In 1996, she founded the youth film festival "Crystal Obturator". A graduate of St Petersburg University of Arts and Culture, she began directing documentary films in 1999 and continues to do so to this day. Bolshakova’s films have received several awards at film festivals in Russia and abroad. In her films, she explores the psychological and emotional impact that advertising, new technologies, the internet, and mass media exact on people and society.
