Kirill Vytoptov was born in 1984 in a small village in Kazakhstan. While attending college in Chelyabinsk, he began to take theatre and dance classes at local studios and participate in amateur productions and street theatre. After graduating, Kirill moved to Moscow and received a second degree in directing from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow. He has directed two plays at the Academy and participated in several other productions as an actor and dancer. He also works with LIQUID Theatre, which specializes in cross-disciplinary performances that combine elements of choreography, drama and circus arts. Kirill recently directed the Chekhov-based "Seryozha" at the Sovremennik Theatre in Moscow and is now working on a new project at the Sovremennik, based on a contemporary Russian novel.
