Irina Ivleva was born in 1976 in Chelyabinsk, a city near the Ural Mountains. She started to attend dance classes when she was four. Ivleva graduated from a music and choreographic lyceum and, later, from the Department of Choreography of the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts receiving both diplomas with honors. Currently Ivleva works on her dissertation and oversees the students’ research at the Academy’s department of choreography. She also teaches the history of choreography and modern choreography and is a choreographer for the Academy’s ensemble of modern dance. Together with her students, she has received several awards at contests of modern dance in Russia, Greece and Germany. In addition, she collaborates with teachers of dance schools for children in her region and with an arts school in the town of Serres in Greece. Annually, she attends master classes on modern dance in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
