FlipFest! is the brainchild of CEC ArtsLink Executive Director Fritzie Brown, and is a follow-up to the 2004 FlipSide exhibition at New York’s Artists Space, featuring the work of CEC ArtsLink-funded visual artists.  There, ArtsLink alum, Dan Perjovschi (whose solo show in the atrium at MoMA huge drew crowds last summer), contributed cartoons to the exhibition by daily fax. This year he supplied the little man logo for FlipFest!

ArtsLink Fellows have been hosted with CEC ArtsLink funding at such organizations asDavid Dorfman Dance in New York; the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa; Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, and the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans.  During this five-week residency, participants are encouraged to explore ideas and expand current projects using the unique resources of their host organization, and to channel the creative charge of a new environment. The celebratory FlipFest! featuresnew performance works by some of the most innovative and exciting artists who have participated in the program.

FlipFest! is presented by CEC ArtsLink and produced with Bonnie Sue Stein/GOH Productions.  Suggested donation: $15.
